1. Shipping Framework
Due to the specialised nature of laboratory and industrial equipment, shipping methods vary based on the size, weight, and sensitivity of the item.
- Standard Shipping: Smaller instruments (under 70kg / 150 lbs) are typically shipped via FedEx, UPS, or DHL.
- Freight & LTL: Large machinery, centrifuges, or sensitive systems are shipped via Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) freight on custom pallets or crates.
- White-Glove Delivery: Available upon request for high-value equipment requiring specialised handling or inside delivery.
- International Shipping: We ship globally. Please note that the buyer is responsible for all duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees in the destination country.
2. Handling & Lead Times
- Processing: Most orders are processed within 3–5 business days.
- Crating: Large machines may require custom crating to ensure safe transit. This may add 2–3 days to the lead time.
- In-Person Collection: Local collection is available at our warehouse by appointment only. Please contact us to coordinate.
3. Inspection & Freight Damage
Crucial: You must inspect all shipments immediately upon arrival.
- If the packaging is visibly damaged, note it clearly on the Bill of Lading (BOL) before the driver leaves.
- If hidden damage is found after unpacking, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
- UsedLabMachines.com is not responsible for damage occurring during transit if the damage was not noted on the BOL.
4. Returns & Refunds
We aim for 100% accuracy in our listings, but we understand the complexities of used equipment.
- "As-Is" Sales: Unless otherwise stated in the product description, all machinery is sold "As-Is, Where-Is" with no warranties expressed or implied.
- 30-Day Guarantee: If an item is marked with our "Functional Guarantee" and arrives non-functional, you may initiate a return within 30 days of receipt.
- Restocking Fee: Returns for "buyer’s remorse" or items ordered in error are subject to a 20% restocking fee. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping and crating costs.
- Non-Returnable Items: Consumables, software licences, and items sold specifically "For Parts/Not Working" are final sale.
5. How to Initiate a Return
- Contact support@usedlabmachines.com with your order number and a description of the issue.
- Provide photos or videos if the machine is malfunctioning.
6. Power & Compatibility
The buyer is responsible for ensuring their facility meets the electrical and plumbing requirements (e.g. 230V vs 110V, 3-phase power, gas lines) of the purchased equipment. Returns will not be accepted due to facility incompatibility.
